If you could live in any state in America, where would you go? Phoenix is not only the capital of Arizona it's also the state's largest city. I would go to Phoenix area, but don't believe I would survive the summer heat. To most people, constant noise is a major red flag, but it could be a plus if you're really into city living.

My brother and his wife retired to GV 12 years ago when he retired at 50. They lived in Quail Creek for those years and loved it, just recently downsized to a smaller home 10 miles away but in GV. I know they leave every May for Park City, Utah and don't return until the end of September as they feel the summers are too hot.

The absence of sea breeze and heated desert ground make this heat really unbearable, while a constant sunshine makes aging faster. Known for its warm climate and beautiful desert landscape, Arizona has long been considered a great place for vacation. We really love that the neighborhoods are nice, it is quiet, and I feel much safer than I did when we lived closer in towards the Phoenix area ( 10 miles east of where we live now).

Many people who now live in Arizona were lured in by promises of paradise. I love to visit Phoenix, but no way I could handle that heat full time. If you are considering moving to Arizona, feel free to ask me questions about life in the desert. The Phoenix metro - including Phoenix , Mesa , Apache Junction , Scottsdale , Tempe , and Glendale - is one area you won't want to overlook if you're considering an Arizona retirement Just be aware that not everything is always sunny in Phoenix.

Phoenix is not only the capital of Arizona it's also the state's largest city. I would go to Phoenix area, but don't believe I would survive the summer heat. To most people, constant noise is a major red flag, but it could be a plus if you're really into lake havasu city living.
